...if this ever uploads! A pink reminder that self breast exams are a "for life" thing, and a key to early detection and prevention. Done in Inkscape (:

i like the pink panther shower curtains

Pink Panther wallpaper (: I thought of doing a clear shower curtain with the Pink Panther design, but thought the clearly visible, undistorted Pink Panther wallpaper was a better use of the mascot for the campaign. For once, the annoying bounding box around a tiled pattern in Inkscape worked in my favor with the tiles, and made for the grout between (:

the tiles look PERFECT ive never done that in inkscape yet

What..you don't like my non-existent, burnt off by clove cigs nose hair? I was sick of the other icon, and for lack of a better one at the moment...not trying to offend, or look down on anyone (which would be counter-Quiche).

The tile/pattern feature is ify presently. Create your object(s) to be tiled, select "Objects to pattern" and then in the fill and stroke menu, choose pattern as a fill, and in the drop down menu, it'll be the generic 1234 pattern (for ex.). It leaves a small gap (bounding box) around the tiled area which apparently cannot be removed except by text editing (unless your created pattern area is larger than the area you wish to fill), but I hear tell they will fix this in the up coming new version, which will be a plus! Too, there has been some issues of Inkscape crashing when you try to adjust (enlarge, reduce, rotate, etc.) the pattern. I just recently posted a bug report about it- I tried to do another benday dot pic, and Inkscape crashed nearly every time I tried to adjust the pattern. Thankfully, I saved every so often, and routinely do, when I use Inkscape. In spite of the frustration of an occasional crash, I love the program.

I really love this! It reminds me of one of those WWII Rosie The Riveter propaganda posters. (and I absolutely love the WWII propaganda, lol) "Women all over the world are doing their part in this war against Breast Cancer, and you should be to!"

So many wonderful aspects of it that all tie together to make a beautiful whole: the way she's soft and round and not strikingly handsome or exotically beautiful - she's your average woman, who takes pride and responsibility for her own body; the way she looks like she's saluting with that pink ribbon tied around her finger - like a reminder; they way she's naked but still modest looking - she's doing her breast exam; the way everything is pink, but not a eyesore, and you even included the Pink Panther!

Thank you! You described perfectly in words where I was going with this! I'd love to think she could have as much of an impact as Rosie, and for such an important cause (: Pink Panther is such a nifty character! I'm glad they are using him as a mascot- love the old cartoons!

I am very much influenced by the pre 1960 illustration in advertisements. They knew how to advertise, yet were fabulous artists, making even the seemingly mundane (often absurd and or cheesy) aspects of life interesting and artful.

Love, much appreciation, and infinite blessings!
