Hillbilly Hula Gal by QuicheLoraine Hillbilly Hula Gal by QuicheLoraine
Inspired by Junior Brown's twang-o-rific song "Hillbilly Hula Gal", 1950's "modren" graphics, old LP covers, the old hi-fi stereo consoles, kitsch, and my own quirky, country fried, hick chick weirdness. Digga Digga Doo is a real song (and a fave), the others purely fictional. Inkscape, SVGeeeee!

Nashville skyline tiki heads.

Love it Lorraine, it has put me in a Twang-o-rific mood for the rest of the day :-)

Another creative vectors job well done! Nice to see, as always, you're still exploiting that bundle of Open-Source called Inkscape. Keep up the good work! ;)

Thank you! I'm going to have to fight my Inkscape exploitation tendencies once I start school- lol!

Yeah, unfortunately... We'd discussed this
before.. Proprietary software there... Yuk!
It's school, and hopefully some open doors
there for ya. You've got the talent. I think
you can handle Illustrator for a minute. ;)

You pulled that off well. Very convincingly old style modern. I have some records that actually look like this.

Thank you! I love old LP covers! We grew up with an RCA "Mediterranian" style (a popular furniture style) hi-fi console, that played 45, 33, and 78 rpm, and stacks of my parent's nerdy collection from the early '60's, some of it regrettable, much of it cheesy, and we'd play them on 78 speed for a good, roll in the floor, laugh...don't think my mom appreciated it- ha! LP Cover Lovers has a huge collection, and I love this site [link]
