Artist's Comments

A card design for the season. The lady is Jane Burden Morris, muse of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, wife of William Morris, but in an Art Nouveau setting, two of my favourite periods in art.

i love how you put your catch phrase in there :D i love art nouveau, esp the really big haired ones where the hair is a part of the logo. that was real graphic design, real talent ;) i love (which will sound very odd, but i'm currently working on this...) the lighting on her cheeks, and the feathers are wonderful.

love it so hard it bleeds

Thank you! You might also like Raphael Kirchner, another fab Art Nouveau artist. Feathers, hair- fluff from hell, design-wise- Ha! I hope you have a happy holiday season! Infinite blessings!
:iconpebg6:
i google Raphael Kirchner and he has some intresting pieces! thanks for info! Happy Holidays to you too! have a great 09!

Thank you! My cousin asked me about my phrase, and my reply was, "Who wants to be only partially blessed?" Besides, you should want for others what you want for yourself (: I like what Mucha did with hair...the hairmeister, ha! He made it look like an ornament, which was fabulously clever. The Art Nouveau artists were definitely the graphic design masters! They were much influenced by Ukiyo-e and in turn "Japonisme" became it's own unique style. Aubrey Beardsley is another amazing Art Nouveau illustrator, and Ralph Kirchner...too many to mention! Girly, right there with ya on the endeavor (:

Hope you have a lovely holiday season and a fabulous New Year! Infinite blessings!
:iconquicheloraine:
Thank you, you too! Hope you enjoy Kirchner! You know, he did some fabulous pin ups! Infinite blessings!

love the hair and the soft orange on the feathers
oh and everythign else lol
fantastic font
is it a font or did u hand make the letters?
the only thing i dislike is how her shoulders join her neck in body builder fashion
:iconquicheloraine:
Thank you Troy! The font is "Chelsea Studio". The shoulders thing- a full figured woman by today's standards, but in vogue in Jane's day. I hope you have a lovely holiday and a fabulous New Year! Infinite blessings!
